Dolls & Masks: Symbolization in Jiang Shuo and Wu Shaoxiang's Art

The couple Wu Shaoxiang and Jiang Shuo were widely recognized in Europe for their particular sculptures after having migrated to Austria in the late 1980s. When they came back to Beijing, they have become spokesmen for contemporary Chinese life, with their indepth observations and humorous expressions. In China's development of contemporary sculpture, Wu and Jiang created a unique understanding and method of integrating oriental and occidental cultures with their distinctive creations.
